MONDAY FEBRUARY 26TH. 2017

With Xmas and New Year Club celebrations, now well and truly over we continue into the
new year hoping that we can maintain the level of fun and entertainment that we have had
during the last few months of 2016. Guest artists for the February club night were the now
very well known Amaryllis accordion duo, Tracey and David. I met Tracey a number of years
ago at Club Accord when Tracey and Poppy Middleton were involved in the running of the
club. I later met David Garwood and this duo have since become very popular and we were
very pleased to invite them to our club. I understand that they now provide quite a selection
of entertainment for events, dances and accordion festivals, etc.
A fairly recent member of the club, Paul Hobbs had been invited to open the proceedings
and he played a range of very pleasant popular tunes to set the precedent for the night.
Amaryllis began the concert with the ‘Elizabethan Serenade and played a selection of very
popular tunes including Petite Fleur, Those were the Days, Hello Mary Lou and rounded the
evening off with a super selection from The Shadows. Thanks Tracey and David for an all
round excellent show and everyone showed their appreciation with a standing ovation.
Tracey can be rest assured that Amaryllis will be invited to return to our club.

We are sorry to say that Oleg Sharov will not be visiting us in March as advertised. Barry has
been able to make alternative arrangements which we feel will please everyone. On Monday
March 27th. a Classic Cabaret Act known as The Little Black Dress Duo will be here for us.
Amanda Hall, vocals and guitar, Dawn Loombe, piano accordion , will be playing and singing
the evening away. These girls will perform popular music and will also add a continental twist
with tributes to Edith Piaf , Eartha Kit and Cole Porter.

Social nights, held on the 1st. Monday each month are attracting more visitors than ever. We
hope this success will continue as it provides more opportunities for novice and experienced
players to take part and demonstrate their skills.
